The New Year...2011...what?

To those who still read my blog,
I wish a (very-much-delayed) Happy New Year!

This blog post will share some of the stuff from 2010 and sneaks of 2011 that I feel were and are important to me:

1.Coming Out
I've always hidden this side of me pretty well. But I guess its time to let it all out (figuratively). My closest friends know I've always liked guys (in more ways than one). Yes, I'm gay...not happy-lalala-fluffy-rainbows gay...more like get-turned-on-by-the-likes-of-Guy-Tang-Brent-Corrigan-Brent-Everett-Jake-Ng-Ming-Han...

I think its because I kinda got tired of hiding all the time. Lying's hard work...its kind of like Public Relations in a way. First, cover up what gives you away, create some fictional story (or twisted truth) to divert attention and work that baby all the way to town! Yup, PR at its best!

2. Relationships (including friendships)
Some broken, others began anew. I have been called a serial monogamist...the extent and subjective definition to which this term fits me remains to be seen.

3. Friendships
Some have grown stronger than before...I never knew you could be so close to someone and love him or her on a different level altogether. Some have grown weaker to the point where I can't believe we were even chatting last time.

4. Love
Once again, serial monogamist.
To my Bunny, I hope you find someone better than me. I still have Angel and I know you still have Pengy. Let that be reminders to us both.

To my Snow Pig, I'm still waiting to be comfortable having you as my partner in a relationship. Right now, you kinda annoy me at times with constant SMS and phone calls (which you know I hate!). I hope things will change...lets see what 2011 has in store for us together.

5. Body & Fitness
I've joined Celebrity Fitness for almost 1 month now. I can see the little changes working out has paid off. Still in love with Zumba especially Deno's Latin Mix classes (slowly getting my gyrating hips back!). So far, have only taken classes from Deno and Sunny and Myke. Have yet to try Elva's Zumba classes but will fix that ASAP. My usual routine begins with cycle/treadmill for 20-30mins, followed by classes (if any), otherwise will be working on my abs (damn those lower ab fats! how to get rid?) and chest.

6. Career
Well, back at Bates141 again as an intern. This time, hoping to get a permanent job in Client Servicing department as I feel attracted and attached to this agnecy. My foray into this industry has always been that way ever since I found out about the field of Mass Communication. I realise I'm not necessarily as extroverted as expected of people who work in this industry...but I feel like I was meant to do this. Could I be right in saying that...this is my calling?

Recently a dilemma has appeared before me, one that I never thought I'd have to experienced until I myself had more experience on my shoulders. A good friend apparently put in a good word for me and now Vizeum Media Communications (a reportedly-BIG-in-the-industry agency but one which I can't seem to find any info online) is interested to have a chat with me.

This isn't just a big stepping stone in my possible career...its a HUGE jump-ahead stepping stone. But my dilemma is this...I'm a fresh graduate with "textbook" knowledge of an industry that changes so fast by the time you read this word, that "textbook" knowledge would have been obsolete and outdated. Can I do right by Vizeum and give them the 110% that they rightfully deserve out of each of their employees?

I'll be honest here...I'm nervous.

Where once I swore I will never own any Apple products, I have now been a proud owner of the Apple iPhone 3GS for the past 6 months. Loving it to bits (still do).

Since then, Apple has released the iPhone 4 and the iPad as well.
Most of you who know me will imagine how itchy my fingers are feeling right now...
I still yearn to own a 15" MacBook Pro though...with i5 processor, 500GB hard disk space, blah blah blah...

Maybe I'll own the complete set in the future...
When I reach the point where I can confidently say to myself,

"RM500 is small change to me"...

Now, time to stop daydreaming and return to my mundane world BS-ing on PR2 and C&O...

DiGi's "Unmentioned" Charges

This happened to me in real life (RECENTLY!) and I'm writing this post to warn all who are thinking of getting the DiGi's iPhone plan to think twice before signing that contract.

In DiGi's iPhone plan, you get X amount of free minits, SMS, MMS and Internet usage depending on the plan you choose. Being a student and paying for my own phone usage, I opted for the iDiGi 88.

I was skeptical at first. I've used prepaid all my life, so the terms and conditions of postpaid service are alien to me. So I started researching. First, checked out the price plans, their pros and cons. Then on the day I went to buy/collect my iPhone, I asked the DiGi ground staff these questions:

"So I only pay RM88 per month, for two years (24 months)?" "Since I'm paying for 6 months in advance, what if I exceed? Do I only pay the balance for the first 6 months?" "That's all I pay right?"

The DiGi staff answered that I was correct. I asked a similar set of questions to the D'Chat operator, who also answered that I was right, confirming what the first DiGi staff said. OK, so here I was thinking that I could definitely afford at least around RM88 a month for calls and SMS.

My bill for April just arrived. Yes, DiGi did waive off RM88 due to my 6 months advance payment. HOWEVER, I discovered that DiGi has also charged me another previously "unmentioned" monthly amount of RM88. My greatest shock came when I realized that after the 6 months is up, DiGi is actually charging me RM88 + RM88 = RM176 a month!

Let's ignore the fact that both DiGi staff have supplied me with FALSE INFORMATION. Let's ignore that I, as a student paying my OWN phone bill, will now have to pay RM176 a month for the next 24 months. Thats a grand spanking total of RM4224!

What I don't understand is, why is DiGi charging me a second amount of RM88? I already paid RM1590 for the iPhone 3GS. The initial minimum RM88 a month would have cost about RM2112 for 24 months. In total, I'm "supposed" to pay roughly RM3702 for the phone + call charges. I haven't even included the 5% service tax.

Let's do a little math. Assuming that I use RM88 for call charges a month for the next 24 months, excluding the cost of the iPhone:

RM4224 - RM2112 = RM2112

I'm actually paying roughly DOUBLE the amount that I signed up for.

So, please...I implore anyone who is thinking of buying the iPhone now or in the future...ensure that those figures you see on that contract are the ONLY charges that you will have to pay.

And to DiGi, I'm demanding compensation and a full explanation for this injustice. Your staff have supplied me with false information, twice.

I wonder if I've lived it well...
There a million ways on the Internet telling you if you have lived your life to the fullest...
But do any of those ways fit me?

Instead of trying a million ways,
I think I shall happily go on living a life of blissful semi-ignorance...
And deal with any hardships and pain as I encounter them...

Good Things That Have (Or Will) Happen(ed):

1) I'm attached once more.
THE number ONE thing that has been putting a smile on my face every few minutes. Hoping this will be THE relationship that I have been praying so hard for. Everything seems to be going well...we've been keeping things real. We both know that promises are sometimes difficult to honor. Today, I said we'd visit places like Singapore, Australia and Paris in the future. I'd very much like for us to make it to that point in time.

2) I Will Be Apple-d!
Yes, it's true. Despite my earlier rants and complains about how IPods and IPhones are blah blah blah, come this April I shall be the proud owner of either a 16GB IPhone 3GS or a 32GB IPod Touch. Do I sense a Mac somewhere is the distant future? Stay tuned.

Bad Things That Have (Or Will) Happen(ed):

1) The Womanizer has left Malaysia.
PJIs, LEOs, DJ-ians, Sea Park-ians & all manner of students and friends (mostly female) felt a gap in their hearts appear as Eric Teh Aik Soon boarded the 1.20AM Air Asia flight for Melbourne. Yes, he will be back...but no one can deny that we will all miss his kooky-ness and dramatic flair. Some of us were even priviledged to witness his best quotes:-

Its been 3 days since the epic battle between Ikano Powercentre and 1Utama as they put on an amazing and breath-taking display of fireworks.

Although E@Curve and Tesco attempted to make waves, their ripples soon faded into the background as Ikano and 1Utama pushed the boundaries in an attempt to see who had more money to burn...literally.

Also, since its the new year...
I've cleaned out my blog posts, deleting those that were of little importance to remember. The ones left untouched are the ones with the lessons best to learn.

Looking back at almost 3 years of blogging, it was quite a shock to look at some of the things I've written...and at how much I've changed.

Ok, maybe not THAT much...but there's a slight difference...I think....XD

Singapore & Christmas 2009

Singapore was A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!! (as always...)
After 11 days in the cosmopolitan island-city, me and my wallet managed to get some pretty good exercise. My legs felt like those of a marathoner and my wallet developed a near-lethal case of anorexia.

Seriously, never expected one could spend almost SGD $200 in Bugis Street alone...very scary. Although the selections were mostly female-dominant, still had some very nice choices. Went into the adult shops for the first time. Got reacquainted with the stations on the MRT line. They've been doing some serious upgrading, the trains and even their bus lines are SOOOO much better than Malaysia's.

But then, Singapore has proven to be better than Malaysia in most areas. Can you believe conversion rate from SGD to USD is rough 1.something....? So UNFAIR!!! Imagine working in Singapore, where your lunch can cost you a minimum of SGD $3...? And they don't have *cougheffingannoyingstupidhypocriticalcough* political parties that prevent Malaysia's Tourism Industry from being MORE than just a "melting pot of cultures".

The next day, was Fellowship outing with Alpha Leo Club of Saint Anderson, Ipoh (the oldest club in Malaysia) and Omega Leo Club of Ipoh Metro...sponsored by Lion Alan Thoo...

First on the agenda was a trip to a (somewhat) famous Nasi Lemak Cikgu. My first time eating nasi lemak...complete with the sambal...those of you who know me, will know that I NEVER touch anything spicy, especially sambal...

Well, I ate everything...quite nice...

Heng Ji Farewell - Off to Cambridge

Yesterday was the best fun i had with anyone since starting college, even though was supposed to have sad undertones (he's leaving for UK next Thurs). Plus learned some very interesting things about 3 particular ppl.

Morning to Noon:

Went to Kimarie for wash and set as i know i will be out the whole day. Yes, pathetic me dunno how to style my own hair. I'd still rather pay then look like a mop. after that, rushed to 1U for Heng Ji farewell Part One. Met up with Kah Uip, then Rudy, lastly Heng Ji & Markus & Kok Hee join us. First we makan at Burger King. Rudy's burger supposedly "cummed" all over the food tray. (Weird coloured sauce maybe??)

After that, bought TGV movie tics for Pathology starring Milo Vertimiglio (spell wrong?). Awesome scenes of gory thriller action, a MUST-SEE for fans of thriller, gore, blood and of cos Milo V.

Night:

Went to TGIF with Anna Lim (she's back!) for Part Two of Heng Ji Farewell. Met first with Ang Yee, Hai Yuen and Kah Wei, then went in TGIF to get the table. Slowly ppl turned up from Angsana, BR, Cempaka, Dahlia and Ixora and the gathering began. The food was delicious, thankfully or else i would be complaining more often.

After dinner, had pic session at the fountain behind TGIF (For pics, the title above is a link to Photobucket). Had minor molesting session (see pics for deets). Then as slowly as they came, they slowly went went home......

Now the fun begins...(pls highlight the section below to read the words)

AfterParty:

Heng Ji decides to go clubbing, so me Calvin & Anna waited for him while he fetch Sherri home (haha kena con by her!). We walked around then went to Sanctuary when he arrived again. RM228 for a bottle of Smirnoff but Heng Ji insisted so we chose that. First few cups mixed with Coke or orange juice and I was grooving at the table. All my fave songs were played so quite happy with the DJ. Went out until 3am, longest i have ever stayed out.

THANX FOR THE EXPERIENCE, HENG JI!!!! REALLY GONNA MISS UR BRAINY WACKINESS!!

It was hard to walk away...I Let Her Down

No, this time its not gonna be about shoes, fashion, that to-die-for outfit in the window...No.
This time, its about walking away from one of the best memories i have and possibly one of the cruelest things i have ever done in my life.

20th September:
PJI and Taman Sea Leos went on a visit to Taman Megah's Home for Disabled Kids (not exact name, its the corner lot one). I stepped into the compound and was almost immediately attracted to this little girl who is about 4 to 7 yrs old. An absolute darling, i took turns with one of the Taman Sea girls to give her piggy back rides (i regret not asking for both their names). Holding her in my arms, i felt an instant connection. I felt like i was holding my little sister, or to some extent, my daughter. Whenever i set her down for awhile, she would get moody and start to cry. You all asked me what i did to make her cry, i know now the answer is I Let Her Down.

She would be fine after awhile, and we played an unofficial piggy back race with Eric and his "rider". I can still hear her laugh. After that, she clung onto Lawrence and Wei Jheng. Then it was time to go.

She clung to me again during the group photo session. Really held on me, i could feel her unwillingness to let go. That's when i knew, i had erred. A big no-no is working with orphans is to not make a bond with them, especially if you cant commit to see them all the time. When i had to set her down before leaving, she wouldnt let go. The maid had to drag her off my shoulders. It broke my heart and nearly made me cry. But i knew i had to walk away. For both of us.

Got home around 6.30pm due to dance classes...then sat down to finish reading Drowned Wednesday...
Huey Luan calls at 7.45pm, asking where am I...(suppose to meet at 7.30pm)
Rushed to SS2...Huey Luan ask me go buy bday cake with her...bought pandan layer cake...

Back to Wong Kok Char Chan Teng...ordered food.
Makan until full.

At first, was just me, Huey Luan, Clayton, and Elisha...later, Anna and Lawrence...lastly, Wei Jheng. Finally can order the Birthday Milk Tea. Lawrence went crazy after a few sips (Anna says, "Cos inside for caffeine")

Took the pandan birthday cake out, light candles. Birthday boy blow out one at a time.
Anna say tradition is birthday boy must pull the candles out of the cake using his teeth.

Kesian. Huey Luan strike and Elisha nose kena coconut shavings.
Had some more laughs, then Anna deleted my pic. Evil Anna. XP

Leo Orientation Camp - Debut

Yes, we finally organised our first ever Leo Orientation Camp (LOC), a pre-cursor to the already well-known Leo Leadership Camp (LLC). Arriving at Yuk Chai Primary on 30th Aug @ 8am was not cool...but to avoid wrath of Lion Lady, must go lor...

1st Day: - Things began with ice-breakers, talks and lectures (I didnt know ADP students learnt Human Comm. Behaviour...). Participants divided into 5 'animal' groups. Lion Clayton ad Lion Ivan were present alongside another 2 Lions who did not stay long enough for me to get to know them better. =)
Evening - Telematch. My station is the one with the Eldest book. Must balance book on 1 A4 paper. Could you have done it???
Night time - must stay up and jaga keselamatan...haiz. We'd rather sleep but under Lion Lady orders, made duty roster like a good Security Head. Woke up at 5.30am, half an hour late for duty. XP

2nd Day: - Best breakfast, lunch and dinner tasted in any camp so far! (Cos made by Chinese mah....) More talks and lectures, followed by a few games.
Evening time - Time for fun! Water and balloons mix to create screams of dismay as participants get soaked by Organising Committee. (Cue sadistic grin............*grin*)
Night - must prepare salad, chicken, and sausages for BBQ night. Run here and there to get stuff. After eating, got performance by participants and their groups. Fun. Tired. Broke. Petrol Low! (Pls pls let me claim...) Slept @ 2.30am...tml wake up @ 4.30am. Bright side - get to tease the participants. Down side - lethargy, zombie-like feeling.

3rd Day: - 4.30am!!! Earliest in my LIFE!! But get to atch the stars disappear as night turns into day. Great to be there with Eric, Fion, Mun Suet and Jia Jun. Maybe i should go on camps more...but....haiz...see how la...
Afternoon - one final talk by Lion Clayton. Then participants rated overall LOC. Scored 3 - 5 on a scale of 1 - 5. Duh Dragons won First Place. Congrats. Went back at 3pm-ish and now blogging from Boon Siong's house.

Verdict: Glad I went. Pity those who didnt get to experience this. Definitely close to my pals, and i hope they feel the same way.

Recruitment Drive July Intake

It was time again to get more members to join M&DC...under orders of ECA....XP

The last time we had a recruitment drive, we managed to fill up a total of 11 registration forms with 11 names on each sheet, bringing a total of about 120+ new members.

So to try and be optimistic, I set my goals at 5 sheets at the start. The forces that be, however, had other plans.

More and more students came and signed up, making me raise the goal number to 8....then 10....then we reached 11, and thought that was it...but boy, were we wrong...

With the help of local hunks Robin and Kien (Kien's hair in 3rd pic and Robin's lips in 4th, don't ask), we managed to fill up 13 sheets of registration forms. That brings us a total of 150+ new students for July alone. Wow.

Now, the only thing i can pray for is that most of them do not go to 'sleep'.

The rock is something I took on a whim to try and test my camera skills. Had others but Brendan's fingers made them look obscene. XP

MALAYSIA: Guys shake better than girls!

Back from London!!!

Finally back from the nut-freezing cold weather of London...let me tell you, unless you're a 'cold' person, DO NOT GO WHEN IT'S NEARING WINTER!!!!

Ok so let's do some flashbacks:

Arrive at KLIA super early it should be illegal...guess who I saw going through Immigration...the one and only JIMMY CHOO...haha we took same plane but of cos, Mr Fancy Feet was in First Class...
i think i shall fast forward the next 14 hours...

We arrived at London Heathrow Airport, comprising of 4 terminals and 2 more in construction...(it may be be BIG but it sure has some SLOW service...). it is estimated that when the new terminals are up and running, u will need approx. around 30mins just to walk from the Departure Hall to your respective Gates. And get this, London is the most EXPENSIVE city to live in...even British people agree...

We stay at Hyde Park, Inverness Terrace...the window we had didnt face any park or view but we had some very 'interesting' stuff to see none the less...(a couple making out for 20mins and another couple having sex....both with the windows wide open...i'm not kidding, i swear)

Our first visit was to Westminter via the Tube or Underground. We came out directly under Big Ben, then we walked until we came to St. James's Park (actual spelling)...if any of you reading this ever go to the UK and visit a park, bring along some bread crumbs or peanuts...the squirrels and the birds will just jump all over you...had a blast feeding them...but MAKE SURE YOUR IN THE FEEDING AREA!!!

Next, Going to Portobello Market...girls and antique hunters will love this place cos it caters to those sort of crowd...high fashion, street fashion, ghetto fashion, anything under the sun, you just might find it here...

One little thing that made me boil was a UK art show called SMART...they were doing batik (or batick for UK)...then the presenter said that batik was from Italy!!!! How the f*** can they do a show about art and not look up its references of that particular topic? Don't even know why...but this made me boil...

One thing I realised about stores in the UK: very neatly organized. For example, the magazine stands. Lower shelves = health and lifestyle, middle shelves = IT and fashion, and the top shelves = porn. Yes, its legal to sell porn in the UK (one of the only good things about the UK, actually...)

Soho is a must-go to see the sleazy side of life...its dotted with sex-shops and adult vid and book stores...one must learn where to look...i didnt manage to find many....haha....

Now, halfway through the trip, i began to realize i was actually bored. Castles and palaces not really my thing...so while my parents went to Windsor Castle and other places, i went out on my own. You can't really get lost as there is a Tube station almost anywhere....

Walking alone was way better too...

We also went to Greenwich where i stood on the Meridien line...pics and vids will be uploaded in later posts.

Ok getting bored about talking about London...i come to find that taking expensive holidays abroad are just not worth it unless you have the cash to keep going back. Once-in-a-lifetime equals easily-forgotten, for me at least.

Yes, its true...as we all can see, handphones are becoming more and more stylo-milo and oh-so-gotta-have...(not to mention the prices.... -.-)

Case in point: the new Motorola V8 Luxury Edition...thats right, the LUXURY Edition...

Neways, directly after ICG Theory, i went to Genting with my aunt, God-aunt and her husband and her adorable baby son....

Genting ah...hmmm...nothing much has changed...dunno why so many people pack that place up all the time...but i guess it has its charms...

Hey, if u got the cash, get a room facing the mountains...(pssst! RM200+ a night...)

Okokok...pricey but for some, its worth waking up to see the mountains draped in misty fog...

Then open the window to a refreshingly (if somewhat biting...) cold blast of mountain air...

Singapore repeals law banning oral / anal sex

Yesterday, the Singapore legal system repealed a law banning oral and anal sex but these acts must still be performed at great discretion in private quarters. (1st was the SExpo...now this...)

Guess they felt the heat after openly-gay actor Ian McKellen of Lord of The Rings fame criticised Singapore for its close-mindedness.

Singapore is becoming the Asian Amsterdam but without the out-of-control drug abuse.

The Power of the Wind

PETALING JAYA: Residents of Leisure Commerce Square witnessed a 'hair-raising' scene when the winds suddenly picked up strength and speed.

The winds picked up enough momentum to blow several of the big umbrellas near the Chinese hawker stalls. Chairs and even tables were overturned. Hair of all colors and lengths and styles went crazy as the wind whipped those follicles round and round and up and down.

The only regret I have is that i didnt manage to take a picture or video of that scene...

I was too busy enjoying 'the wind in the hair'. haha

There goes my privacy... T.T

USE BOTH THE LOCKS ON THE DOOR!!!!

Failure to do so and you will end up like me...halfway through a piss when the door opens and someone walks in (worse if its a chick..!).

Haiz...other than that, nothing much happened to me. Finished my two angles on the train crash report...thats good at least.

Oh yeah i drove through SS2 on my own...haha saw Jing and some other guy drive past in his car (thought got meeting... -.-) haha
